How It Works
The figure below is an example of how our stations are set up and how group rotations work. See below for a detailed explanation.
***PLEASE NOTE***

*Block Printing activity is not present in the below example; but the information still applies.
As you can see from the above diagram, the event style for the American Revolution Homeschool Day operates the same way as our contracted field trips with schools from public schools or other private organizations as far as rotations and scheduling. To apply the same systems to homeschoolers: The total number of ticketed participants will be divided into six (6) groups. Each group will be assigned a Camp Flintlock Staff member that will lead each group to their first activity. Every thirty (30) minutes CF Staff will blow the fife (loud, far-carrying period wind instrument) to signal to each group at each activity it is time to rotate to the next activity. As reflected in the diagram above, the groups will rotate through the activities clockwise. After a number of rotations the event will be paused for a 45 minute lunch break, then resume once lunch break is over.
Introduction
At 10AM all the groups will gather in the field for a brief introduction to our field trip, announcing the activities, going over general history of the period in an engaging way, and listening to some live fife and drum music.
Conclusion
Once each group has rotated between all the stations and completed each activity, all groups will come back together for our signature Pop Quiz complete with free prizes from our camp store! We will ask the kids activity-based questions and if we choose one who answers the question correctly, that child will receive a free prize. PLEASE NOTE and tell your child that NOT EVERYONE WILL RECEIVE A PRIZE to avoid disappointment if they do not end up receiving one.
